Sure Bernie Madoff financially ruined hundreds of people who had money to invest to begin with, but 150 years just for a Ponzi Scheme? Consider it in this context if you will: my friend's step-brother, when he was 18 walked into a daycare and exposed himself and sexually touched a 6 year old girl. He was caught luckily, but the judge only sentenced him to 12 months probation! How can a crime that perverse go unpunished while white-collar criminals get death sentences in the form of consecutive life sentences for white-collar crimes? Is that justice? Please tell me because it's driving me nuts that our judicial system allows for punishments grossly incongruent with the crime.
