How do you feel about the 150-year sentence Bernard Madoff received from the judge?
Mr. Madoff began his business in1960, investigations to his fabrications of legality and mathematics impossibilities began in 1999 and in Dec. 2008 he finally decided what he was doing was a big lie.
Ruth, Madoff's wife, agreed to forfeit $85 M in US assets – leaving her with $2.5 M in cash. She claims she knew nothing of what her husband was doing, however, shortly before Bernard confessed – she withdrew $15 M from company accounts.
Bernard gave his sons a total of $31.5 M – now they have to pay this back.
Madoff, according to Judge Chin, faces 150-years in a federal prison plus $170 billion in restitution.
Madoff could be forced to mingle with murderers, rapists, drug dealers, white supremicists and even terrorists. Madoff has hired (who paid for this?) a 'prison consultant' to locate the best prison for him so he won't be targeted (the white supremicists hate Jews). He basically wants to have 'personnal protection' 24-7 – why does he feel he's any better than any other criminal?
First of all, federal prisons are nothing like state prisons.
I'd rather see him serve his time with the 'general population' and pray for the best.
If Bernard Madoff began feeling 'guilty' in 2008 – then why didn't he force Ruth to leave and have her move some place where no body knew her name (she could have gone back to her maiden last name)?
He planned well for his 'riches' but not well at all for his family and his crime.
